UV edit modifier

Hello everyone,
is it technically possible to implement something like an UV edit modifier, in example ontop of an mirror modifier?
so you are able to create an unwrap of the whole mesh without appliying the Modifiers.

The X-symetry-function in edit-mode can often be very unreliable, when changing the topology and stuff.

The mirror modifier let’s you choose the axis which your UVmap will be mirrored.

So if you unwrap your original object and place all your faces on the left half of the UVgrid, setting the mirror to U will make the mirrored part to occupy the right half of your uvmap. (the same goes for the bottom/top halves and mirror the V axis)
