Geforce vs Quaddro

Hi Folks,

I need to set up a render station and need some advice on the best gpu to choose.

Would i be better off with something like [http://www.ebuyer.com/660175-pny-nvidia-quadro-k620-2gb-ddr3-dvi-displayport-pci-e-graphics-card-vcqk620-pb]this or this geforce card

Would I also be better of splitting my budget and putting 2 £100 cards into 2x i3 machines or buying 1x£200 card and putting it in the available i7

Thanks

Hi, Quadro cards are not suitable for GPU render engines, slow and expensive.
The GTX 760 is a good card but your choice is 2 GB only.
If your scene does not fit in to GPU memory you can´t use it at all.
Here is a spread sheet to compare: http://www.blenderartists.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=340980&d=1414359815
You can look for used GTX 670 4 GB, I saw some for around 160 €.
The next GTX 960 are coming first quarter 2015, the GTX 700 and 600 series are going cheaper then for sure.

Cheers, mib
