bake problem

Hello everyone,

I can’t seem to find how to bake cast shadow on an unwrapped mesh.
Trying to make cylindrical projected render from a 3D scene, so added a cylinder in the centre with a shadeless and fully reflective material.
With blender render, baking it.
While each object’s receive shadow is enabled, even if there is only a sun lamp in use, no shadow appears.
Is there a way to fix it?

And on a side note, is it more of a rendering question?

Edit: got figured it out.
The setup had objects in between the sun and the surfaces, and even the material had some light emit.
