I wish to work with CG and animation as a hobby, and am absolutely fresh to the same.
I used to be very good with sketching in school (23 years back), and ever since studying and working in the field of Fabrication Engineering and later Software Development, have lost the ability to do freehand.
Is there any book(s) I could refer to vis-a-vis how to start-off?
Hard work is what I am absolutely wiling to put in, just don’t want to go off at tangents during the learning phase.
Thanks.
PS: I am also leading a project to build a Blender centric Linux distibution with a focus on transparent clustering.
Not intending to belittle you, but, I really couldn’t understand a word of what you have written there.
What do all those terms like “subdividing faces”, “merging vertices”, etc. mean?
Is there any book you could suggest or recommend to get me started off at an absolute beginner level?
I believe it may have been a joke of some kind.
Tutorials is how I got started. Just plain internet tutorials (blenderguru, random youtube people, free CGcookie stuff, etc.). Also, if you’re looking to get into animation, I’d be willing to guess that there are a lot of non-software-specific books on animation techniques out there.
