Might I set the lifetime of a fire?

Hi, I’m trying to create a fire simulation there the flames dissolve almost immediately and don’t know how to accomplish that. Meaning a fire that looks like this

I wonder if there is any specific lifetime-setting for the flames as there is for smoke, 'cause I can’t find any.

I’ve instead tried to manage the alpha of the flames via the color ramp, like this

and I can’t cut of more alpha without losing the “core” fire I want to keep.

(If you wonder: the first pic of how I want the fire to look is a render of the beggining of the simulation, there the flames hadn’t grown tall yet)

                                                                                                                   Thanks in advance!

Under the domain’s option, in the “smoke flames” rollout, there’s a couple options for controlling how the fire burns. The “speed” control should do what you want. A higher value will consume the fuel faster, leading to shorter flames.

Thanks, is there also a way to remove those “thick” flames that are being emitted in the beggining of the simulation?
