Perspective

I’m starting to transition back to Blender after a long hiatus (last build I used regularly was 2.49).

This is a simple animation done for a design class. I wanted to explore a visualization of scale from an immense perspective. If the first sphere is considered to be 1cm in diameter, the final black sphere is ~180 million meters across.

that is actually pretty cool. It must have taken quite some time to render an animation that long. For future animation renderings set the seed for the sampling to random. That way the noise will be way less noticeable

Luckily I was able to utilize some of my school’s computers to speed up the rendering time. Many thanks for the tip! I hadn’t thought to tweak that option.

pretty neat, how did you manage the workflow of dealing with meshes of such disparate scales?

Very cool, I like the music. But the rotating camera made me kind of dizzy.

Wondering about this as well, any tips? Looks great!

Kemmler & kiliankoe - I increased the viewport clip distance and did a lot of scrolling

I really like it!
