Creating transparent Image Sequence for the Animation

Hello Blender Community!

I am in the process of learning Blender, so I am sorry of this question might seem dumb

I am a web designer and app developer but want to add something extra to the app animations. Right now I am doing the simple animations in Photoshop, which is fine, but it doesnt allow for the 3d effect.

My Question: after compiling an animation, when rendering a movie, Blender has an option to render the movie as sequence of images, in my case, I want PNGs. But , in order for me to use that frame sequence in the iPhone, it needs to have transparent background, so I can layer the images on top of the textured background, or whatver background I need in the app.

Is this possible and if yes, how? It would be super awesome if I could do that. And yes, I know that I can have a solid background when rendering.

THANKS!

Set the render output format to .png and enable RGBA so it includes the alpha channel.
You will then need to render your scene with a transparent background
In blender render set the alpha to transparent in Render / Shading panel
In cycles render enable transparent in the Render / Film panel

Sweet! Thats excactly the answer that I need!
