portrait attempt

(you can see skin pores on full screen mode)

This is my first portrait attempt. Any critisism is welcome. Thank you.

Perhaps post better pics. If you’re going to render, adjust camera/lights/world/resolution and F12. If you just screenshot the viewport, editor to full screen (shift+space, ctrl+up arrow), zoom to the model, ctrl+F3.

Whole head, front/side/3 quarter. perspective camera/viewport with focal length adjusted for each to make the features look more natural. Also lights adjusted to show the forms. These help people to see the proportions and features better.

Object properties -> display: wire & draw all edges, subdivision surface modifier off. Solid shading mode. That helps to see the topology.

Note that those are scaled and combined to one image. It’s better to have good enough resolution on the actual ones.

If you want to render, could use a simple setup, maybe something like this.
suz_portrait.blend (121 KB)

It wasn’t meant to be a render. As it was just a progress shot I didn’t pay attention to lighting but I will now.
