Using Haswell graphics

I would like to be able to use my i7’s graphics for driving my display and my 2 cards for just rendering. Is this possible and if so would I see much of an improvement in render times. I seem to remember reading somewhere you can’t use the on-chip graphics if you have more than one PCI-E graphics card installed, again could someone confirm this.

Thanks for you help

No.
Hi Wig, I use this setup as I had a Windows 8 on my system.
I had to change setting in BIOS from Auto to Onboard GPU, or similar.
There was 3 lables, Auto, PCIe and Onboard.
Plug display in to board DVI, install Intel video driver and run.
May this work out of the box for you, depends on mainboard.
There is not much improvement performance wise but you have the full 4 GB and smooth working Blender UI.

Thanks mib, I’ll give it a go. I’m hoping it will run cooler too. My No1 card runs hotter than the 2nd card but I think thats because its in the top slot and all the cool air coming in the bottom of my case is cooling the 2nd card in the lowest slot. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Cheers, Wig
