Rotate snap not working

HI Everyone Im trying to snap my rotation to 5 degree increments by pressing and holding Ctrl whilst rotating but it does nothing is this a bug or am I missing something obscure

Have you set the snapping to increment
If you snap with Ctrl key ensure the snapping is turned off (magnet icon on header).

Please supply an example blend file.

Hi Richard Thanks for the speedy reply the snapping was off but the snapping was set to faces. Ive set it to increment and it works now, I had a feeling it would be something obscure. I would have thought that if snapping was on, ctrl would still snap to 5 degree increments unless it had something to snap to, or at least if snapping was off it would ignore which snap type was active. oh well another thing to remember to check I suppose.
