Water Globe

Made this in a couple of hours last night, rendered it over night. I used Andrew Price’s fluid sim tutorial because I didn’t know how to do the water. The globe is a sphere that I subdivided a ton of times, added a displacement modifier, then I added another sphere, subdivided it a whole lot, and used the shrinkwrap modifier to retopo, then I cut the hole out for the top, cut a hole for the base, solidify modifier, made the base, and done!

Rendered in Cycles.

Nice idea

Very nice concept and beautifully rendered.

It came out nice Zombie, one of these days I have to do a water sim in Blender.

Thanks everyone!!!

I would have thrown some goldfish in it but my computer could barely handle this scene without fish.

That’s awesome! I would have put in a bit of color somewhere. But I’m also a terrible artist! =D
Great work. =3

Very well done. Clever.
One question though, if a zombie is dead can it be immortal?

Thanks Michelle and Elsdon.

Isn’t a zombie undead? Lol, I don’t know I just liked the name!

Very cool!

Thanks a bunch!

That’s a great idea. Nice work!

Thank you!!!

Anybody want to 3D print it? Message me! There might be some problems with it though.

cool idea…awesome render… might try this too some day

Never put a fish in a round container. They can’t see where the glass is. Just saying

That’s interesting! Thanks for the info!!! What if I enable “no caustics”??? (yes that was a bad joke.)

Great work! I like the idea and realisation.

Thanks a ton!
