Importing object and rigs from maya to blender

I’ve been tinkering with this subject for a few weeks now, has anyone had any experiance with importing a rig from Maya and getting the object plus it’s rig (armature) into a scene in blender?

Really, the only way to possibly do that is to export from Maya to FBX format, but even that will take some tinkering to get something useable. Getting the model isn’t the problem – it’s getting a useable rig. You may wind up just importing the model and re-doing the rig in Blender.
