Rocket ZX car from the 2001 video game San Francisco Rush 2049. One of my favorite games all-time. Attempting to go for an updated in-game look. Also a good excuse to play with the smoke/fire system in Cycles.

First time back into 3d, project-wise, in some time. Also first time doing anything with Cycles. Open to comments and/or recommendations for future projects.

Very nice! The after burner looks awesome!

Very nice.

Without reading, I thought this looked like Rush, good job, one of my favorite games as well.

exhaust and streaks on the pavement…the high speed look is boss, tell me how you didi it…

OMG ITS BEAUTIFUL! Woooooow! :eek:Rush 2049 really needs an HD remake SO BAD! I want to make a Rush 2049 fangame, but I’m not very skilled at modeling or coding or making games in general.:frowning:

Did you model the front? I would love to see it! The side will be nice too!

That’s really epic! I especially love how you updated the model and how it shines.

Me and another friend thought it would be cool to do a clone or HD remake of Rush2049… I’d have to investigate the best way to organize such a project, but first, I just wanted to see if that’s something you would be interested in.

I’m currently writing a highly specialized physics engine that might work pretty well for this. You can already see a game that I finished over at explosivedrive.com

Hey, it’s just an idea for now, but let me know what you think.

Awesome! I second a Rush HD remake.

Awesome photo. Someone just pointed me to a link to this forum post from Facebook. I just thought that I would mention that the three leads (artist, game designer, programmer) from Rush 2049 coin-op are working together again.

We are doing both arcade and casino products. This image is from G2E last fall where we showed Vegas 2047, which is a high denomination pinball arcade game.

Your artwork looks fantastic! Here one of the latest pieces of artwork from Adrian who had a lot to do with that car with the jet on the back of it. If I remember correctly, that was Adrian’s favorite car and the one he drove every time he played.

It would be the most awesome thing ever if the creators of Nitronic Rush and Distance got the right to San Francisco Rush. A remaster of Rush 2049 would seriously make me cry! Of joy of course.

Check out this 3D model of the Rocket ZX I made in Blender! took me about 3 years to get up to this level! It’s not textured yet and the wheels are placeholders. BTW those placeholder wheels are from the actual rip of the Rocket XZ model. Also there is no bottom chassis yet. I also plan on getting this into Trackmania 2!

No need cause there’s a Distance Modding Community that can put this car into Distance! I so happen to be a Modder for Distance and if it is alright with you Austin I would like to Mod Rocket ZX Into Distance and of course I will credit you, Just be sure have the model as an OBJ format and save the wheels as a stand alone OBJ model

This here was the last car I made and Modded into distance
