Making materials in Cycles, rendering in something else?

I am wanting to try out different render engines, but I am only really familiar with Cycles, and I am curious to know if there is anything out there that could potentially take materials you created in Cycles, and convert them to a certain render engines materials…?

Thanks

AFAIK there is no “Cycles to engine X” material converter.
This might be due to the node structure of Cycles’ materials, which can become extremely complex and impossible to read and translate for any kind of automated solution.

However, if you want to get the best out of any render engine, it is usually best to create materials natively inside the desired render engine itself.

Switching render engines halfway within the same project can become quite cumbersome this way, that’s why I would recommend deciding on a particular render engine first and then staying at it.

That is what I thought, but I wasn’t quite sure.

I just wanted to see the differences first had in each render engine, so then I could decide for myself which I like best. I don’t really know how any of the other ones work.
