Parent a solid object to a cloth simulation

Hey guys!

I have created a rope that is simulated as a cloth. I used a wind force field to let it swing and now i would llike to add some objects to the rope, that should move with it but should not be simulated as a cloth. So when the wind moves the rope these solid objects should be influenced, too, but they souldn’t be deformed.

Something like a chain of lampions in the wind. How do I accomplish that?

I just tried with cloth. You select the child object, then the parent object. Hit tab for edit, select 3 points on mesh you would like the child to be parented to.

press ctrl P and its done!

Thank you very much! I gave the lampion bodies a stiffness via a vertex group and then pinned the light source to the lampion vertices, just like you said.
