[BGE] Exploration

Well, most people confine the game engine down to the game engine section, but I think it deserves a little love up here as well, particularly as this project is solely to expand my modeling and texturing skills. Treat it like I’m just using a funny renderer. Sound good?

So let me present to you the first part of my little tech demo/game, just in screenshot form. A blend and video will come when I have a slightly bigger environment.




Be aware the water and fire are already animated, I’ll hopefully get an animated gif up soon.

The next section will extend from the cavern you can see in the last image.

Be harsh in the critique, but be aware of the limitations:

  • It does need a low polycount, currently at 10,000 for the cave, buy the time I call this done, it’ll probably be only 100,000 or so.
  • Textures are also a little restricted, I don’t have that much graphics ram.
