The dinky fullscreen file manager in Blender ticks me off inside. Is there an option/addon to window it or replace it with ye old reliable windows file browser?
No. It is something which they have to make the UI consistent between mac / windows / unix… otherwise they have to program up 3 different ways of using the normal file inputs for each os.
Feel free to code it up and build your own blender with it like that though (and submit it to the patch review system ofcourse)
