Would you buy it - an research thread about an work in progress [POLL].
Hello! Lately I have put some more work in an python networking game/project that have been going quit well.
The project is an 2D block-placer that let the player completely modify the world, eg. add/remove blocks. If you have heard about terraria, it have allot of similarities whit it. the game will have fully functioning networking that sync the position of the player, the world and the changes made in it.
what it will have if completed:
*fully functioning network sync (already done)
*account system and server based save
*Support for an X number of players, (where X depends on the power of the server machine, but about 20 - 30 would not be an problem for any never machine)
- Support for unlimited size worlds (load/deload,etc…)
- Mac/windows/linux support
- allot of different blocks
- crafting system. eg some blocks combination make new blocks
- Inventory system (handling the different blocks, and other items found in the game)
- xp/level system
- more…
I have done allot of this, and can do the parts that I haven’t done yet. My current life position do however not allow me to pay for it, so in order to make this game I’ll need to know if there are any potential buyers. Ofc I do understand that based on the few lines of info that I have given u it is hard to say: “I’ll buy it” but hopefully you do get an view of what kind of game it would be, and from that perspective also get an hint about if you would consider buying it.
Now you might think, “hello, why would we pay, as you making it in blender, that is free, there are no need for any money”. This is however not the case, Yes blender is free, but other tools are not (for sound, pictures, more…), and to keep an server alive are certainly not.
So now to the question: If this Idea where to become an finished product, that where available for around 10$, would you consider to buy it?
plz answer on the poll, and/or leave an comment telling me why/why not. If you have any ideas’/question then do also leave an comment.
