How to simulate a melting text

Hi there,
it is true that Blender is lacking a “melt modifier” that would allow the non-destuctive, parametric simulation of a melting object.Usually, we use fluids for simulating such an effect, but using fluids is both difficult to fine tune and computing resources taxing. But by using a combination of the existing modifiers and the right shape keys we can achieve some pretty decent results and ,more importantly, there is no need for the artist to bring his computer down to a crawl and, in addition, the whole thing is easily adjustable since the modifiers are still there for the user to make any adjustments and fine tune them in a non-destructive way.This video shows you how…
