HDRI ... how to limit reflections

I’m using an HDRI for ONLY lighting an interior scene… the transparent is checked in render tab.

But my problem is there is a lot of glass… and I am getting reflections of the HDRI in the glass… I only want my real geometry to reflect off glass and glossy surfaces.

Is there a way to still use HDRI for lighting… but not have the scene capture reflections from HDRI?

edit: I should have mentioned that I am using Cycles not BI

Turn off glossy ray visibility for the background material


OK… thanks Richard, I’ll give that a try. I didn’t know if I possibly needed to use that light path node in some way.
