The 10 Minute Blend Challenge!

Summary
You have 10 minutes to create the most visually appealing still image possible.

The Rules

You MUST time yourself, and stop after 10 minutes!
The winner will be voted for by the forum members + me.
You are not aloud to use previously made models/scenes.
You will be judged on one thing and one thing only, how visually pleasing it is.
This doesnt include render times.

There isnt really a deadline at the moment, but after enough people have contributed, it will be closed for voting

(oh and btw, you CAN submit multiple entries)
This is about seeing what awesome designs can be made in short amount of time!!

My Entry:

Time: 7 Minutes
Inspired By: A Rubix Cube

Moved from “Misc: > Off-topic Chat” to “Contests > Member Contests”

Something on the abstract side, after 10 minutes:

It’s not a good render. But that is what I can do in 10 minutes… (for now)

I tried to do something simple but original.

10 minutes
was working on the lights on the side when time ran out still needs lines for crystals, hangers and ceiling mount

6 minutes to model.
A subdivided plane and the tree sapling add-on. Import sunset image as plane and render.

9 Minutes Total, mostly spend modelling and texturing. Rest of the scene is just instancing

Pretty sweet!

A very cool contest. I will be entering as soon as get off of work.

BTW, are there any prizes or is this just for fun?

Here is my entry. Wow ten minutes goes by fast!
This is just a really simple abstract render. It is now my PC background.
I picked yellow because it is my favourite colour. I was originally going to use the Blender orange, but it didn’t look nearly as good.

Time Breakdown:
Material Setup = 1 minute
Modelling = 5 minutes
Lighting Adjustments = 3 mintues
Happy Dance Time = 1 minute

This one i did a looong time ago but i know it was under if not then just above ten minutes because i was using it as an example to show and explain to my friend what the ghosts and glare nodes do. the purple blue color is entirely the ghost node. the scene is black and the little dust particles and orb are just simple emission. this render was actually a mistake that just looked cool. I love the idea for this competition and i think it should run along side the weekend Challenger every now and then

8 mins to model,composite,etc
1891 samples; 2 hours render
