Scale from center in VSE using Transform Clip effect?

Hi. Trying to get things done quickly in the VSE, and I’ve imported an image I want to scale from tiny to large. The problem is, when I try to animate this, I can only get it to scale from the corner, not from the center of the image. Is there a way to change the origin of the imported image, so to speak?

I know how to do this in the 3D animation window, but it’s a lot more work than just using the transform clip effect on imported graphics. Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance.

Woah, that’s freaky… I figured it out, but what a strange solution…
To scale from the center of the graphic, set the image offset in your imported clip/image to exactly half of the total pixel width of your video for the x value, minus half of the imported clip width, and exactly half of the height of the video in pixels minus half of the height of the imported graphic for the y value. Then apply the transform strip effect and it should scale from the center…

There has to be an easier way to do this though. lol am I missing something obvious?

Thanks.
