Hello all, we launched a 3D model search engine, which finds 3D models on the Internet with simple keyword search. The models can be previewed right on your browser without any plugins! (Chrome and Firefox recommended).
We received some requests to add filter to the search results. It is now available on the website. On the search result screen, there’s a triangle next to the search box. Click on the button, you’ll see a list of filter you can choose from, e.g. file type, vertices, polygons count.
I can confirm the filters and that they are working. However a bit more stylish would not hurt.
This is a great tool for all the 3D-printers out there. That industry is GROWING. Maybe try to hook up with some of those guys? on 3dprintboard.com etc.
I think it’s great, immediate question raised by a colleague was “what’s the license” and I explained, it’s just a search engine it doesn’t care. But lots of results are from blend-swap where you can actually see license. So maybe a way to snoop out the license and have it displayed.
that could be a huge boost for blendswap, where cc-0 is fairly common. and to see that in the result grid could prompt users to pick stuff from blendswap over others.
just sayin’
love the looks overall, love the clean interface IMO the model preview could go full browser size.
