How to make Blender viewport shading set to Rendered when opening project file?

If I set the Blender viewport shading to Wireframe, save the project, close Blender, and then re-open the project in Blender, it will remember that I last had the viewport shading set to Wireframe.

When I set the Blender viewport shading to Rendered (using the Cycles engine) and go through the same steps above, when I open the project in Blender, the viewport will always be set to Solid.

I’m using Blender 2.71. Is this a bug? Is there a workaround for this? It’s an annoyance to switch the viewport shading to Rendered every time I load up a project.

I’ve never really thought of that as a problem, but that’s the way it’s always worked for me. Hitting Shift-Z is a handy keyboard shortcut to switch to rendered view, though.
