the new splash screen in 2.71

I am still on 2.65 as my blender version but i caught a glimpse of 2.71 when someone posted a screenshot somewhere. i just wanted to know who had made that rather interesting looking artwork on the 2.71 splashscreen and where i can see that image in more detail.
