Simple but effective, I like it. Care to share render settings? 
Pretty realistic from what I can see. Perhaps just a few imperfections like a stray hair or two or dents in the handle?
There’s a noise on brush, I see two white pixels on black brush. OMG @_@
In my opinion the metal part is a bit to thin. At the brush side it almost looks like the metal part is smaller then the brush. And maybe add some imperfections like rickycolson said, that would make a lot of difference.
