How to auto weight single bone in armature?

I have a model with some bones that need fixing in the rig, and auto weighting seem to does a good job for them. But i only want to auto weight certain bones and not the whole armature. Is there a way to apply an auto weight to singular bones in an armature without affecting other bones weights?

If the object has an armature modifier and vertex groups named for the bones go into weight paint mode on the object (with the armature in pose mode) select bone(s) and Key W for special menu where you’ll see Assign Automatic from Bones which will auto weight for whatever bones are selected.

Before you apply your Ctrl+P Armature to Mesh Parenting…
Go into your Armature and and select each bone you do not want to influnece the Mesh…
under the ‘bone’ icon in the properties panel… under ‘Deform’… there is a check box… uncheck it…
and that bone no longer is calculated in the vertex groups creation process when using AutoMajic weights…
