Right ortho is still 3d

Hi, this is my very first post on this forum and my very first hour on blender so g easy on me(i dont even know if this thread is in the right place)

so. say i load up blender go edit mode,right ortho,then transparent and it still shows the vertices on the other side of the cube so its a 3d shape from the side making it more difficult for me to edit both sidees equaly.

In the top left corner of the viewport it will tell you whether you are in Perspective or Orthographic view. To toggle between the two press Numpad 5
