Four legged walking

Hey guys,

I’m animating a fox model I made though I don’t know how a fox moves with their legs, as in the order and timing.

If any of you have anything that might help please feel free to post it so I can see.

Thanks in advance!

Study the work of Eadweard Muybridge.

Most four-legged creatures walk with similar gaits regardless of their size. Look at the pictures of the horse below. Note that when the front legs are extended, the back legs are passing each other. And when the back legs are extended, the front legs are passing each other. Each foot leaves the ground at a separate time than the others.

Here’s an elephant. Note that it has the same gait.
