Suggestions on making splash look realistic?

I find the fluid simulator to create rather gooey-looking water so tried fiddling with the viscosity but I really don’t know what to set it to thin it out. Also might have something to do with my tracer particle settings. Any suggestions? (See my settings below)


Well, I decided to just render the thing in LuxRender and use its water material applied to the fluid object. I let Lux smooth out the blocky bits. Result below:
