Cape - Cloth simulation help

I’ve managed to attach the 2 ends of the cape to my characters shoulders. They move with the character animation. (I have him standing folding his arms and looking side to side). They move perfectly with the model. When I bake the cape sim, all is good to start with. The cape collides with the characters back and legs, but when he stars folding his arms the cape starts to pass trough his left real shoulder/back. Any tips to keep this from happening?

Make sure your cloth mesh has enough polys to actually collide with the shoulders in that area. You can also try adding a subsurf modifier to your mesh after you’ve added the cloth sim which works really well. Gets rid of a lot of noise and you don’t have to go back and edit the mesh itself.
