for non meme gifs one place i can point to is the website for the, now shut down, buran shuttle project, they have loads of small gifs of vehicles from the russian space program, both those that flew and those that never even reached full prototype stage. amongst the huge numbers of animated gifs scattered across the site are a few excellent ones showing the internal structures of some of the spacecraft.
a few on the first page of a military spaceplane that the soviet union never took beyond the prototype stage and the second page has loads of gifs, albeit small ones, of the buran shuttle’s only flight.

There’s a popular game on iOS and Android right now that takes advantage of this sort of trick to create puzzles (to get a character across from point A to point B), it’s very short though for its price.
The gear and techno ones are my favorite so far, in part because it shows the highest levels of technical and visual skill.
ouch, the blue and yellow torus really does look to be rotating. the fact it is a jpeg confirms it is not animated at all.
It’s really cool that thing with the battery and wires. Amazing the sorts of things you can get up to with everyday items.
