You will see how a 3D procedural texture is being used to control particle clones placement.
Anyways, here is some info on how to make effective use of the IvyGen Addon as the tool currently stands. It’s pretty amazing.
Creating a Topiary
Doing a bit of testing with the new Cycles Metropolis patch. (the current patch has a problem with camera renders and I forgot to hide the mouse)

These lions are simply fantastic!!
Great materials. Very realistic!
The rough outline for dungeon level 3 is ready, here it is.
You know me, I like weird things! Very nice!
Weird things are fun. Here’s the bug thing in Sketchfab… A bee, or a wasp? Maybe a fly. Who knows. You decide. Oh wait, I see that Vicky says it’s a butterfly from the still render I posted earlier.
We’ll just say my art is abstract instead of incoherant and confusing. Yes… abstract.
I must have been staring at the wings! HAHAHA! Sorry, but make those wings bigger, and you got yourself a nice butterfly :eyebrowlift: Your art isn’t incoherent, I believe that would be ME
I was being silly. Self-deprecating humor. You’re right though, they do look like butterfly wings with the holes that sort of look like they could represent those colored patterns we see on butterflies.
Well, regardless of what it’s called, the wings would look awesome with a shader like this applied. http://developer.download.nvidia.com/SDK/9.5/Samples/samples.html#glsl_thinfilm
