Reflect but not Render?

It’s late here, and my brain has just given up. So I’m hoping someone here can help point me in the right direction.
I have an object that I would like to use as a reflection object. Meaning it shows up in the reflection of another object.
Problem is… the best place for this “reflection object” puts it in view of the camera.
Is there a way to have it show in the other object’s reflection, but it’s self not show up in the render?
Oh my brain.

Thank you,
M

If you are using cycles, under object properties > ray visibility, disable camera ray

Hmmmm… and if I’m using Blender Render?

For now I’m just giving the objects Pass Index numbers and separating them out in the comp.
Meh… kinda works.

Hi Molino,
You can put objects on a separate layer and not include that layer when rendering.
Those objects will still show as reflections but not seen by the camera themselves even though they are in front of the camera.

Cheers :eyebrowlift2:

No way… I don’t know why I didn’t think of that. I love it when the simplest solution works.
Thanks
