Can you use Force (like Wind) with Fluids?

As shown in the picture below, I am trying to do some trickery by using an Object in my scene as clay, and then I’m going to switch over to an identical Object, which will be the “Fluid > Volume” source in a Fluid simulation.

However, I would like the fluid half of it to sort of blow and spray backwards (in the scene, from left to right) a fair amount. I’d planned to use a Force to push the Fluid back, but I now see that that doesn’t work.

So, does anybody know how to achieve this?

What if you used a control object in the same shape of the Blue object? The fluid will conform to that shape and you can animate the control object as long as it remains within the domain.

Thanks a lot, Atom. This Fluid Control looks like a very promising solution, and so I’ll explore it further.

Thanks again, Atom. This ended up being a pretty simple and good-looking alternative.
