Objects shrink when animated with shapekeys

Hi

How do I stop objects from shrinking when I apply shape keys to them? The objects look fine while I’m setting them up in Edit Mode, but they shrink when I apply the shapekeys in object mode.

It might be that you have to apply scale at some point. I am just guessing, but that seems to be the cause of many things.

In the image on the left you see my plane’s wheels. The image on the right demonstrates my problem.: The wheels of the plane shrink as they are moved (via shapekeys) to the inside of the plane. This is only one example. I have the same problem when trying to make my characters eyes blink. The eyelids shrink whenever they’r suppose to blink.

Help Please.

Ill assume youre trying to rotate the wheels into the body of the plane.
It may be better to use armature bones for this.
When a shapekey deforms a mesh from one shape to the next, the vertices move directly to the next shape position, they wont copy the trasformation use to make them, rotation for example.
Shape keys can be used to do this, but you may require more of them, animated in a sequence.
