Shipping Container Words

Hey,
Just as a random questions (and because I don’t know where else to ask), does anyone know what the words on the sides of shipping containers mean? e.g.

I’m talking about the words on the side and the doors. Thx for the replies.

Identification numbers, manufacturer numbers/logos, gross; net and tare weights (ie. overall maximum, empty and cargo).
Last one should be volume capacity. The other small labels and stamps are regarding classification, owner, certifications and so on.

A quick Google of “PSSU shipping container” tells the story. PSSU is the name of the shipping container manufacturer:Pentalver transport ltd. The numbers are for tracking the container. The stuff on the side seems to be Max Gross Weight, “TARE” (don’t know), Net Weight, and volume in metric and imperial units. Max Gross Weight is the total weight of the container plus any contents, net would be the max weight of any cargo and cubic capacity is simply the volume.

Aright, that helped a lot. Thanks!

“Tare,” in any weighing at all, is the weight of the container itself.

For example, if you are weighing a bunch of grapes in a bowl, the “tare” weight is the (empty) weight of the bowl, which must be subtracted from the “Gross” weight to obtain the “Net” weight of the content (the grapes).
