DIfferent Device for individual passes

Hi;

I was wondering if there was a way where one could set, for example, GPU rendering for the GPU ready surfaces, and CPU rendering for, say an SSS laden surface, on separate passes in Cycles? Like, this would make one’s life a whole lot easier if you’re rendering out a complete work and would be freed from the burden of having to create separate scene files for both.

That’s what the scenes are for. Make a linked copy and just change render settings for each. If you want to do this then different scenes is the only way to do this in blender
