OMEGA - a stop motion animated short

Hey fellow blenderheads!

Hey everyone! After 4 years of work and the last 2 touring around the world in various festivals, our epic stop motion film OMEGA is now finally online. It’s actually a mixture of stopmo and computer animation, miniatures and digital set extensions. We used blender alongside After Effects for compositing (that was before the compositor speed improvements, now we would use Blender exclusively of course!). All the computer generated shots - ie. the last half of the film - are rendered in Blender Internal.

I’ve been waiting to see this! Ever since it was first announced I was intrigued, beautiful visual style… off to watch it now:) Congrats! I hope it was well received.

That was nuts! I mean what a way to go! It was a very fascinating piece. This may go down into the program’s history outside of Blender’s main production.

The production quality on this is incredible. I love the scene at 4:30, I am definitively creeped out! Great work, truly excellent.
