How did I do this? ...embossed texture.

I don’t know if you have heard this one or not, but I found a bit of “code comment” humor that fits my current situation here.

//When I wrote this only God and I knew what I was doing
//Now only God knows

I know this is going to come off as dense, but my problem is I made the attached image and blend using an embossing process that created a relief, well, like this coin. I know I used a third party program to make a ‘negative’ (blue image) and then integrated that into the texture, but for the life of me can’t remember the name of the process, or the article I followed to complete it. Any suggestions or tutorials?

Thank you,

if u already have normal map then just set up nodes to use it in cycles!

happy bl

Thank you. Yes, I remembered that what I needed to do was make a normal map (blue negative).
One can do that with a variety of programs out there, but this one was free.

Peace,
Robert
