Which Version of Blender Created a Blend File?

Hi,
is it possible to find out which version of blender was used to create a blend file?

I started using Blender 2.41 in 2006, and over the years i’ve accumulated a bunch of blend files. I would like to open them with the version of blender I created them with, but now i’ve forgotten which version I used.

Open the .blend file with a text editor. You will see quite a bit of data rubbish, but the beginning always shows in clear text which Blender version the file was created in: BLENDER_v2xxREND.
