Cycles + GPU and OpenGL fail to render -Windows 7-64

Dear friends, need some ideas

System:
AMD Core 4, 3 GHz
Windows 7 Ultimate 64
8 GB Ram
NVIDIA GTX460 2048, Driver 9.18.13.3626 (335.23)
Blender 2.70-3216e4b-win64

Rendering:
Engine: Blender-own

  • rendering image OK
  • rendering animation OK
  • speed verry slow for a 3MB blend >8 hours

Engine: OpenGL

  • rendering image WRONG, Frames missing
  • rendering animation, WRONG Frames missing
  • speed fast for a 3MB blend ca 1min50sec

Engine: CyclesRender with CUDA on GTX460 (checked with MSI Afterburner, using near 97%)

  • rendering image WRONG, Frames missing
  • rendering animation, WRONG Frames missing
  • speed verry fast for a 3MB blend ca 50sec

Tested with other .blend, same result!

Any tips for to get proper working OpenGL and/or CUDA?
Is there any switch to get a log by rendering?

Hi, have no problems to render OpenGL, Cycles GPU.
You have to setup all materials for Cycles from scratch and Cycles cant render halos.

I would go for BI, switch off environment lightning and add a Hemi light with 0,25 energy.
Result is 6 times faster rendering.

Uploaded avi with Cycles render 50% size (Hit black download button).

You need more time to get the Cycles setup finished than render with BI and Hemi light.
One frame need 4 seconds on my i5.

Cheers, mib.

Also there are some flaws in the Blender Internal version you posted. It is certainly not optimized for speed. Set the tiles to 64 or 128. You also have it set for a fixed CPU count of 2 and you have 4 on your system. Change that setting to Auto to make full use of all your cores for a faster render time. Something other than a BOX blur for anti-alias will help your final image look “cleaner”.

I found no or WRONG missing frames. What do you consider wrong in your test output?
