UV relax better than minimize stretch?

I don’t know your experience with it, but I never use minimize stretch, because the result is always worst than the one I have at the first time.

So the only thing I can do is use the pin tool with live unwrap activated, but not always you can get what you want, and you need to do a lot of manual tweakings, adding more and more stretching…
I also tried UV sculpt pressing shift for smoothing with no luck either.

In other programs I know, like 3d max, the relax tool works really well, with a few tweakings.

Is there any alternative in blender to the Minimize Stretch tool?
Does someone really has any good experience with it?

Please, any thoughts here?
Which is your experience with the minimize strech tool? Do you find it useful?

The best way I’ve found so far is to unwrap, create new seams, unwrap again, pin here, move, pin there, move, pin-move, pin-move…
But this is very tricky, and it takes a lot of time and tweakings when you try to unwrap for example a head in one piece.
Maybe I’m missing something, but I think blender needs a proper UV relax tool.

“Maybe I’m missing something, but I think blender needs a proper UV relax tool.”

I second that.

Thanks, I feel less alone now with my problem
