In 2.7, the VSE, with it playing video and audio,
when a window is maximized, it stops updating but audio continues to play. :no:
You can alt+a and the window will start updating again,:yes:
un-maximize, all windows don’t update, :no: , alt+a and they will update again. :yes:
Someone please double check! 2.69 didn’t do me this way!

Could be an os or memory or video card issue.
Please oh please, anybody out there in blenderland,
please verify the problem.
Just load a video wAudio, alt+a to play it, shift+space to maximize any window (typically the viewer window),
and in 2.7, the video will freeze while the audio continues to play. You can alt+a to unfreeze,
then if you shift+space to un-maximize, all windows freeze, while audio plays, you can alt+a again and
all windows will unfreeze and pick-up where they should be.
2.69 didn’t do this! 2.7 is just being a pain in the buttocks! Thanks!
I can’t confirm this. Plays slow at first but after caching the playback is good, even with av sync on.
1280x720 H.264 30fps, AAC. Blender 2.70, Linux 32-bit.
Thanks for the effort JA12, but its about “after maximizing a window”!
It does it even with proxies set to 25% and 50% jpeg quality.

I should have noted that I’m on Windows 7 64-bit and Blender 2.70 64-bit.
Also the “anim player” icon goes away when it freezes.
I went ahead and reported it as a bug, it didn’t do it on 2.69 and earlier.
Someone will figure it out.

I just now noticed that ALL blender windows stop updating after maxi/minimizing a window.
NOT just the VSE! The 3d view, movie clip editor, VSE, all of them.
***** SOLVED! ***** Issue will be fixed in next release 2.70a!
So I wasn’t crazy after all, well, at least in this regard! haha
By the way, am I the only one who maximizes windows?!
I do all the time, but not lately. It’s great to have someone bother to go and submit a bug to the tracker! Good work.
