Is there a software that can work together with Blender for Video editing?

I need something to mix each chunks of my cg film togerther and then add my own music into it.

If you don’t wan’t to use the internal VSE in Blender - you can use Lightworks: http://www.lwks.com/. I guess its the only professional editing suite for Linux.

There are some other open source ones as well… but I must admit I don’t have very good experiences with them yet…

Any video editing software can do the very basic thing you want to do. Whether you get video out of blender or any other video creation software/camera makes no difference

I’ve got to agree with nallic. I’ve used Lightworks myself. In fact, I made a short film that included some work with both Blender and Lightworks.

Hey that wa what I’m looking for. Light Work’s features seems close to Adobe Premiere.

Da Vinci Resolve Lite is Free

Primarily for Grading, has Editing too (check Compare).

Why not just use the video sequence editor in blender?

Why not just use the video sequence editor in blender?

I agree…have you tried using the VSE?

Did you see this tutorial?

Just a quick Google search shows several others as well.

Unless you need something more sophisticated, the BSE should do the job, imho.

Just to clarify…I’m not suggesting Blender is necessarily the best app for all
things. Whatever works for you. But it may be all you need in this case.

Would like to know what you decide to use…Blender’s VSE or something else.

Wow, did not know they had a Lite version. I’m playing with it, and it’s neat! Thanks for sharing.

re: Da Vinci Resolve Lite…

I downloaded it just to see what it was about, but evidently my ASUS laptop doesn’t
have an OpenCL video card.
