Chaos Emergency 2014 news (HEAD MODEL)

I have been working on this game for over 2 years and has
been through a lot of changes, i have not touched the game
in over 6 months but now i am slowly getting back to it.
I have started the game from scratch but will use some old ideas and
props in the future also then the level design better optimized.

“Chaos Emergency”
Developed by Giant Games Indie
Release date is TBA
It is a survival horror game similar to silent hill, resident evil.

The story is being worked on but that is not the core, the core of the game
at the moment is,

*Level design
*Lead character + Enemies.
*Basics “Movement, camera etc.”

If the game goes does end up getting to where i want it, i will consider a kickstarter and greenlight on
steam one day but those are just pipe dreams. What i mentioned above are what i want too add to the
game and i am more than capable of doing this but it takes a lot of time and commitment HENCE kickstarter.

GAME FEATURES What the game will have

*Linear game but back tracking in levels and exploration is a must!!
*A story narration by a voice actor “Myself or somebody else”
*Keys/Puzzles/Object interaction.
*A story driven game
*Real time cut scenes
*HUD
*Merchant “A lone ex commando survivor who watches you from the shadows, sells you blackmarket weapons”
*Collectable items to sell at merchant for black market items.

THE STORY long read.
Chaos emergency is based in small town of “To be named” where a bio hazard incident has occurred
out of nowhere the people are beginning to go missing and turning to cannibals…

Corporal “To be named” has woke up on a train alone and does not know where he is and
must learn his barings quick, little does he know who he is and where he is but when he looks
at the towns name he remembers , he is home.

When he comes across the first dead body he is determined to get to his wife and kids.

As the story progresses he will find out he is in a test chamber, a massive simulated environment
to test bio attacks and train soldiers of this Dark organization, Corporal “Yet to be named” heads home
to find out that his wife and kids are not there. the “Ex commando” tells him that they could be
at the safe point, so they head there.

That is where the end of the simulation is and where he finds out from this “Ex commando”
that he is a Agent for this company and his wife and kids are Fabricated In planted Memories
and was used too push him through to survive.

The ex commando is there as a watchdog to report the progress of the agent but Corporal
“Yet to be named” will never know this, only the player will through cut scenes.

When corporal “Yet to be named” finds out who he is, he is determined to find out why as he
leaves the Test chamber “Train, underground, elevator ??” he sees the logo of this Dark Organization
and has a flashback of who he is and that his family is real, this is where the PART 1 of the story ends.

THE STORY IS A WORK IN PROGRESS.

Here are few images of some of the hotel i`m working on, there is
lot of work to be done such as eletrical cables, lighting, bathroom
sink and adding DECALS and props to bring it more to life.
The hotel will be one of many places in this town to explore.

I don’t see gpu latency in your %'s of framerate

what are you developing on 2.67?

2.68a, some reason my fps is dropping from 60fps, gotta find why.
Is 2.67 worth upgrading too ?

I see what you mean, i just upgraded and i`m getting 0% latency.

In your previews there is no gpu latency %

I believe you, the levels are nicely detailed.

Here is video of the item pick up, going to work on it more in depth soon.
I got a bit of latency on this so i had to record at 1366x768, worked out good.

Here are some images of a bathroom piece im working on can some people give some critic and advice ? Im planning to add a shower door and glass, some toilet
rolls, shampoo bottles, toilet roll holder and towel rail.

The walls and floors have very nice specular maps too :wink:
you have to be in BGE to appreciate them.

NOTE just added a Detail map to the wall tiles, new images.

I liked the textures of the bathroom, only missed dirt at strategic points.
As for the video Item Pick up the ammo box size is not disproportionate to the screen? Maybe if somewhat diminished …
Oh, and also liked the set of textures of the corridor. The shading is used in real time or bake in the composition?

Everything is real time 60fps,
the item you pick up will appear large on purpose with a grey transparent background
and a description of the item. Thanks for the nice words, i have put the hotel on hold
for a while as i work on the train station, main street and restaurant. :slight_smile:
I will get a video up by tomorrow hopefully of a test environment.

Check out my BLEND run time for Chaos Emergency, it`s just ITEMS for the game,
no game play as of yet, i got a long way too go.

These are some Items im working on for the level design i have planned out for the town, there is also a restaurant scene im working on, i`m going to be adding
a kitchen area, bathroom, snooker table, jukebox with music, decorations, beer, food
and lot more in the future. It will have a dark vibe too it, with a puzzle scene.

I would spend more time on edges but for a video game, the camera will never get that close.

Spent 8 hours today on this, i`m done with it now as it would take
me forever too get it too how i want it.
