Is there a way to make Linux mint Cinnamon looks like Windows 7 or 8 by using themes?

Because my friends are big Windows fans so I wanna make my Linux look like Windows 7/8 at least on the appearance not necessarily the functionality.

Also the boot logo, how can I change it to the “starting windows” logo with or without the animation?

Yes. I’ll help you use a computer properly

Open google.com and try “cinnamon windows theme”

Try the same with “change linux mint boot splash”

Awww, what did poor Linux do to you?

Thanks for the tip. I will visit this thread after I installed Linux Mint 64-bit. Those themes better be compatible with 64-bit systems.

I’m tired purchasing anti virus software for Windows so I switched to Linux. It is a great world by the way. No need to pay for office apps.

Windows security essentials are free and plentiful for anyone who isn’t a digital potato or has a machine various unknown people use. Not to mention the gazillion good, free AV tools.
Furthermore the free office packages are available for windows as well.
JFYI.

Good choice though poking into the linux world.

Maybe it’s time for a game change. A new direction. We are switching to Linux world.

Linux is free so you don’t need to buy OS for each computers.

Many students prefer the Windows layout so we try our best to mimic it using themes and tweaks.

What are other tweaks for Linux to mimic Windows?
