Fails in ambient occlusion bake

Hello,
I tried to bake the AO of a character, but this is the result:

You can see that it has a lot of triangles, and i want to clean it, but i don´t know how…

if you render, do those artefacts exist? If they do, then there is something wrong with your geometry (maybe your normals aren’t correct).

I agree,
it looks like some flipped normal,

Or intersecting geometry.

Try Deactivating the option of render to you all the mirror modifiers. That is a common mistake.

And that bake image not looks good:

-There is faces that touch each, leaves more margin
-Activate the “normalize” option on the bake panel, that make the render not so dark.
-Increase the samples in the render panel(i recommend set it to 16), your render have much noise.

Thanks for de advices.
How I increase the samples? I only see this option in Cycles.

Is in the world tab.

Ok, thank you very much.

That’s a messed up shadow problem from the Sun lamp. I’m getting the same thing when I use 2 Sun lamps and the samples increase is not helping either. Might as well use the area lamp. The shadows on the area lamp work much better.

Increase the samples is only for reduce the noise.
