Let's make an Optical Flares Library for Blender's Compositor! (Like in AE)

Hello guys, i want to create an Optical Flares Library for Blender’s Compositor like in After Effects. I already started working on some, but i noticed that this is gonna take a while, and im also not very good in compositing. This is why i need You to help me! Just post your .blend file(s) down below. I will collect them and put together with the ones i created and upload the .blend file that contains all of the effects to www.blendswap.com . I hope you guys will help me! Thank you in advance!

Why not show us some of your work so we know you’re serious about this?

Haha, i just started working today. And when i started, i also created this thread  this means that u have to wait a bit

a lens flare ?.. as a camera facing circle overlay with a transparancy ?

@Razorblade This is not as easy as you think. And my aim is to create lens flares that are as good as in After effects. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oa-aLuIy9dk

@Knabbermaus: I am interested in this, let me know if there is anything I can do to help.
P.S. I have a subscription to Creative Cloud so I have After Effects and the like
P.P.S. I do NOT however have Optical Flares, although it can be acquired;)

Played 2day a little bit. Im also gonna put my 3D droplets on screen effect on blendswap.com next days.

Another render – im still testing

This is really interesting - and nice results on the renders. Maybe I can help - these sort of things are what really makes a render. But what is it? Node group in compositor and some texture files? Are you using the built in lens flare node or something else?

Haha! I was just looking these up before I logged in.

Those are some nice lensflares.

Just a tip though, a simple how-to or a tutorial how you made these would be great for people to both help them learn how to make them and let them know what format they should make them in so that you have consistency in the pack. For example, do you have a rig to attach the flares to so that they are animate-able?

I hope by 'acquired “wink” you mean ‘purchase from the fine folk at Video Copilot’. Grabbing an “evaluation copy” and ripping off the flare presets would be a particularly lousy act.

Cycles/ OSL implementation: http://blendbits.blogspot.com.au/2013/05/lens-flare-shader-for-blender-cycles.html

Yes when im finished with all this, im gonna release a 2 tutorials propably. The first will be about how to use all this and so on. And the second one, how it works and how to setup a custom lens flare, and ill show a few techniques

Have you looked for all the other blender lens flare threads? There are many ways to achieve this effect depending on the quality and reality you are trying to go for.
