This weeks theme and entries might also fall under the categories of nostalgia or childhood memories.

I think I had hundreds of the toy soldiers as a kid. That got my vote.

Spent hours on my Rubik’s cube and building models, had a few silly straws and plastic trucks.

Looks as though if Martin’s balloon animal fall off it’s precarious perch it might meet the same fate as most of my past balloon critters.

Thanks for all the wonderful memories brought back this week.

Never partook in the beer activity though.

RobertT, I am curious how you modeled your entry. Did you use some type of generating script? or maybe Dynotop sculpt with lots of snake hook use?

I agree, so many of the entries had me thinking back to my childhood, starting with the plastic model (which got my vote). It reminded me of all the times my brother threatened me if I went too close to a piece before the glue or paint dried. I went looking for plastic models for him this past holiday season as a nostalgia gift and could not find one in any of the stores I went to. He said they stopped putting them in stores years ago.

I also really love The Solution because that was the only way I ever solved that dang thing, dismantle it and reassemble it. Well, in the 80’s we peeled the stickers off. Same concept, but not as satisfying as the hammer.

All the entries were terrific, though, and I spent a lot of time just admiring everyone’s work and the different takes on plastic.

I feel bad that I havn’t been able to participate in the WC for a few weeks now. But Im still around!

I would just like to point out though, On the Solution there for the Rubix cube, i really like how accurate it is. Not many people know what the inside of one looks like. But i learned once how to take them apart using just my hands and then reassemble it to get it right xD
All in all the mechanism inside them is absolutely fascinating. Later on someone took all the stickers of my rubix cube for some reason… So now i just have a black one that i find more appealing to just pull apart and put back together. It’s a great noise it makes when you let all the pieces just fall apart when you remove the first one

Each neural shape began as a subdivided cube, which I then manually extruded, proportionally edited, repeating this to various extents throughout the scene.
